Did you know that most fruits we think of as berries like strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and cherries aren’t berries after all?
Scientifically speaking, berries develop from one flower with one ovary and have more than one seed. They also have three distinct layers: an exocarp, which is the outer skin; a mesocarp, which is the fleshy middle; and the endocarp, which is an innermost layer that contains the seeds.
